Ilir Alimehmeti commented yesterday evening on the statements of Sali Berisha, who withdrew actor Florian Binaj's candidacy for the Tirana Municipality elections.

While his name is rumored to be the DP's candidate for the local elections for the Municipality of Tirana, Alimehmeti said that he sees the leader of the democrat's statements differently.

According to him, Berisha has declared that the DP will come up with its own candidate for the Municipality of Tirana, while he did not reject Binaj's candidacy either.

"Berisha actually said that we will not run with an independent candidate, so it is the approach of the political party. There was no talk of specific names."

Mr. Binaj, who has made a fruitful contribution to the Democratic Party in a difficult period, may also be on the way.

"So the Democratic Party will come up with its own candidate, or even a coalition candidate, as it could even be a coalition," Alihmehmeti said on A2CNN.
