The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, accused the leader of the Socialist Party for the Diaspora, Taulant Balla, of manipulating the May 11 election process by introducing his people into the system of sending votes from abroad.
Publishing photos of a postal worker, identified as Sinan Patozi, once processing Diaspora vote envelopes and in another photo posing next to Balla, Berisha said that this is just one episode of fraud.
The denunciation was initially made a day earlier by the DP's leader for the Diaspora, Jozefina Topalli, and the Secretary General, Flamur Noka.
"Today we have brought here some photos and videos, which prove that the patronage is the person who takes the diaspora vote in his hands. Who is directly led by the notorious Taulant Begojaris. There you have it. Proud of each other for the crime they commit. There it is. Votes in the hands of the crime party. This is just one episode, or a testimony, a fact. There are others in which the diaspora votes were nationalized and manipulated to the extent that the crime party wanted. In complete violation of the contract, and of course there is only one conclusion: these elections can never be recognized. The fundamental task of every democrat is to restore the right to free voting, remove Edi Rama from power, the technical government and the free vote", said Berisha at the daily media conference.
Berisha accused the Albanian Post of being involved in this process, influencing in favor of the socialists.
"First you see Taulant Balla's man, not with a voter, but with DHL employees. You saw the person, both in the meeting with Taulant Balla and in the photo and this clearly proves the black hands of the Party of Crime within DHL. Here we are inside DHL, employees, we are inside. Now, which point of the contract was violated, the main point of the contract was violated; there could be no subcontractor. And the subcontracting was violated precisely to subcontract the companies that worked closely with the SP, including the Albanian Post that extended its hands in this process. So the violations are flagrant. There are many other violations. The one you see with these, he puts them in another office and fills them himself. Look. So this shows that it was not a process, but it was something that was done in the party offices, by people from the party. They are paid, some are paid. Former officials and embassy officials also participated. None of these were, the implication of "The Albanian post office and that process is gone. We would never invite people to vote with mail that goes through the Albanian Post Office. It is known who goes through the Albanian post office."
