Alfred Beleri continues the battle for freedom in the Supreme Court. Recently, two Beler appeals were registered in this court.

In one of them, the elected mayor of Himara requests the illegal evaluation of the arrest in flagrante delicto.
In the other recourse, Beleri requests the evaluation of the legality of the decision of the Prosecutor's Office of Vlora for allowing the covert photo, audio and video surveillance of the infiltrated person.

Fredi Beleri is in prison, arrested for "corruption in elections", therefore he cannot be sworn in as mayor and risks losing the mandate won on May 14. This has brought harsh reactions between official Athens and Albania. A few days ago, the European People's Parties approved the resolution demanding the release of Beler, this decision also brought the reaction of the head of the government, Edi Rama. The latter said that this matter belongs only to Albanian justice.
