The chairman of the Socialist group, Taulant Balla, told reporters after the meeting that they will not accept a request from the Democrats for a debate with a motion regarding the protest.
" We are in an intense phase on our path towards the EU, where our role is irreplaceable. I have informed the group about the position we will take and about some demands with debates."
Regarding a request for a motion with debate on several requests from the DP group read from the protest, I neither accept it nor do I recognize Saliu's party.
I respect those who came out to protest on issues related to doubts, respect for environmental norms in a vital investment for the country's economy, an investment that will be made because it is a great opportunity for Albania and as I have said, within this protest, elements have also been included since the first day this balloon was blown up, it seems clear that there are interests related to regional competition, to the influence of countries unfriendly to Albania.
"That violence in Zvërnec was unacceptable violence. Today they have forgotten that issue and those who stood up for it no longer speak about it. Today, they have stolen the protest from those who started it, " Balla told reporters.
And when asked about his stance on Marjana Koçek's departure from the party, Balla said that the latter should hand over the mandate she received from the SP.
" He should hand over the mandate he received from the SP, and when he is directly elected, he has the right to use the mandate ," he said.
