Prime Minister Rama has shared a video on social media in which he responds to a citizen who addresses him with the words "you filth" for the phrase "fuck you" that the head of government used in the interview with the "Financial Times."
In response, Rama, who identifies the boy as a "24-carat democrat," says that it was not a phrase addressed to the Albanian people, but to those who accuse him without any evidence.
"They showed me the video of this guy and, before I heard the insults, I felt his anger. I asked about him. A 24-karat democrat, the grandson of a respected democrat, a professional with whom I have mutual respect. The fact is that I have never said that word to Albanians. It is also clear in the article. When the journalist asked me how I respond to those who accuse you of being the godfather of the government, I briefly told him the words that deserve someone who has been accusing me relentlessly, for years and years, and has left no stone unturned to smear and bury me, but never any evidence. From an hour of free conversation, he chose exactly that sentence. But I have no regrets," said Rama.
The citizen accuses the prime minister of being the cause of the decline in healthcare standards that forced his father to seek treatment abroad because in Albania he was treated for an ulcer, but then passed away.
Rama says that according to verifications, the boy's father was treated abroad and has not set foot in any hospital in Albania, as he adds:
"I was sincerely sorry and, before I could answer, I took an interest in the case. The late father of this boy never set foot in any public hospital in Albania, but was initially treated in a private hospital, somewhere here and there ten years ago. The boy has gone far along with the wave of the imaginary revolution of the boulevard, political hatred and the fury of the algorithm have made him blame me publicly. After ten years, when his father could not recover in Tirana from liver cancer and passed away in Vienna, he returns to the stage to be used as "cannon fodder," says Rama, while claiming that the healthcare system needs more work.
"Don't mess with the people! Don't give a damn! Leave an hour ago!", the boy says in the video.
"Not to the people, no. Not to the people, because neither this boy nor those who are burned by that word after accusing and insulting me like crazy, are neither the people, nor can they speak on behalf of the people because the people speak for themselves, when their turn comes and they have spoken when their day comes, they will speak again when their day comes. While those people, one by one, no one has lynched them, they have simply been exposed to be unmasked with facts as socially dangerous individuals or as unscrupulous manipulators, not with slander, not with insults like these lowest street talk that have now become the norm of the day and which in this case shame even the late father", is the prime minister's response.
Further, the citizen asks him to resign so that "Albanians can take Albania into their own hands," but Rama reminds him of the contract.
"Not because I am bound by a contract with another party, called the sovereign people of Albania, with which I have signed until 2029, and I want to assure all those who are sincere and do not have a party or money behind them to postpone this protest that I do not confuse their concerns, troubles and anger with these undignified characters who shame our public assembly. But, having neutralized a very great evil and with many heads that has seized the protest by the throat, I will undoubtedly turn to the significant mass of people, people regardless of what direction they come from who want to be heard and I will tell them what I have understood from all this need of theirs to protest and how I think that those things that internally, sincerely call people towards protest, towards the need to be heard and also towards admiration for those who protest also on their behalf precisely because of this need, should be addressed", concludes the Prime Minister.
