The car used by former Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi was filled with accumulated fines for violating traffic rules.
This is revealed by his relative, Taulant Balla, who says that he asked the State Police not to tolerate any extortion of officials, deputies or even ministers.
"It is a pity, because, among other things, the ministers do not drive the cars themselves and there is no reason for their names to be mentioned on portals or TV (as happened today with my predecessor who just left office) because the State Police did not executes the decisions of the corresponding fines", says Balla, among other things.
Çuçi used a super-luxury BMW model car tendered by former minister Sandër Lleshaj. According to the rules of the road, the car can be blocked if there are more than 3 unpaid fines.
The full reaction of the Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla:
Today I drew attention to the structures of the State Police for allowing the accumulation of fines for violations of traffic rules by the vehicle of the Minister of the Interior!
The standard set by Prime Minister Rama on the first day of his assumption of office was clear. The prime minister's escort first and then all other official vehicles of ministers, deputies and so on, cannot violate traffic rules except in cases of duty-related emergencies. That standard put an end to the spectacles of the strong on the streets of Tirana city morning, lunch, dinner with sirens and crossing traffic lights, of the aforementioned categories.
It is a pity, because among other things, the ministers do not drive the cars themselves and there is no reason for their names to be mentioned on portals or TV (as happened today with my predecessor who just left office) because the State Police does not execute decisions of the corresponding fines!
I hope that this reminder serves everyone to do their duty according to the law.
