Prime Minister Edi Rama said that he did not take personally the lack of invitation to him from his Greek counterpart Mitsotakis, for the summit of the leaders of the Western Balkans, earlier this week in Athens, where President Zelensky and some of the leaders were also present of the EU.
In an interview with the Greek daily, Kathimerini, the head of the government said that when it comes to politics, he does not take personal things, as he added that he would never do such an action to Mitsotakis.
"I never take it personally when it comes to politics, about things that happen that might be uncomfortable for you or that might make you feel bad. Because at the end of the day, politics is a dangerous beast that can drag you down and make you say or do things you're not proud of, so, no, I'm not personally offended. I just wouldn't do (what he did) and I can't imagine being in the same position to do something like that. Moreover, I think that the purpose of the meeting and the initiative that Qirjakosi undertook is related to something very big, very big.
Thus, to connect this great goal, to connect such an important initiative with sending a message to me, to Albania. For what? Whatever importance the Greek side gives to this issue, which we all know what it is about, this is not the way to act. I think that, especially when unpleasant things happen between friends, friends should face each other, talk to each other, try to understand, respect the friendship by being very open and at the same time never forgetting that they are friends Qirjakosi was a friend that I liked and respected, he continues to be a friend that I like and respect," said Rama.
