The largest plant in the world is discovered

The largest plant in the world, a seaweed, almost 5 times larger than Tirana, has been discovered off the coast of Australia.

Using genetic testing, the scientists came to the conclusion that the giant meadow found in Western Australia is, in fact, a single plant. They believe it was formed at least 4500 years ago.

According to scientists from the University of Western Australia, the herb covers an area of about 200 square kilometers.

This herb is commonly found in the waters off the coast of Australia. Researchers tested 18,000 genetic markers to find out how many species of plants were part of this underwater meadow. But the results showed it was a single plant.

"We were stunned," said Jane Edgeloe, chair of the study group. "It is a single plant that stretches for 180 kilometers and thus becomes the largest known plant on Earth."
