'Baywatch' star announces battle with breast cancer and surgery she underwent

"Baywatch" star Nicole Eggert has announced that she has undergone a mastectomy with reconstruction due to her battle with breast cancer.

The 53-year-old actress shared the big news with her followers on her personal Instagram account, posting a selfie in front of the mirror, wearing a black sports bra and white underwear. She wrote: "I had a mastectomy with reconstruction on Thursday. How was your weekend?"

Nicole Eggert, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2023, was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma. At the time, the actress said that her motivation to fight the disease came from the fear she saw on her daughter's face when she told her about the diagnosis. She said there was no room for giving up and that this was something she had to go through in order to stay close to her family.

At first, Nicole Eggert thought the pain she was feeling in her left breast was a symptom of menopause, but it was later revealed that it was a sign of cancer. In the meantime, she has received support from her famous friends, such as Carmen Electra and Debbie Gibson.
