Danny Ramirez will play one of the most famous roles in cinema history.

The "Top Gun" star has been cast in the new "Scarface" film, which producer Tom Culliver says will follow the guidelines of the original 1930s novel.

For Ramirez, the project will be a revolution, after many years of playing supporting roles.

He has stated that the return of "Scarface" will not simply be a copy of previous films, but an original story, one of those that Hollywood has overlooked so far.

“There are a ton of stories, whether it's Mexican-American, Latino, and Latino stories with people at the forefront who are not just supporting actors in someone else's story, but rather the protagonists,” Ramirez said.

"We wouldn't do something if we didn't have a new approach. Bringing back masterpieces for the sake of bringing back is not an option. The audience needs a new story," Culliver explained.

The project is still in the negotiation phase and there are no concrete dates.
