Nick Reiner, the son of director Rob Reiner, who was found murdered along with his wife, Michele, is under arrest as a suspected perpetrator.

According to TMZ, he went to a hotel in Santa Monica on Sunday morning and left a trail of blood behind.

Nick arrived at The Pierside Santa Monica around 4 a.m. and used his credit card. His arrival came just hours after a heated argument with his father at Conan O'Brien's Christmas party.

Eyewitnesses say Nick appeared “deranged” but there were no obvious signs that he had been involved in a violent conflict as there were no bloodstains or wounds on his body. The booking was only for one day, but Nick never completed the check-out procedure.

When staff entered his room on Sunday, they found the shower “full of blood” and blood on the bed. The window of the room was covered with sheets.

Detectives arrived at the hotel on Monday to gather evidence and interview employees. Nick was tracked down and arrested near downtown Los Angeles.

According to TMZ sources, Nick was acting strange at the party because he wasn't interacting with the guests, his attire was messy. The evening was luxurious, and he was wearing a sports shirt and appeared to have consumed something.

The parents had tried for years to help their son fight addiction, but to no avail.
