Children under three years old should not be exposed to screens, while those up to six years old can have access to screens, but in a limited way.

These are the guidelines issued by a group of experts appointed by French President Emmanuel Macron.

The panel also said on Tuesday that children under 11 should not be allowed to own mobile phones. It also said that no one under 13 should be allowed to have a mobile phone with internet access.

Meanwhile, regarding social media, according to these experts, they should be banned for children under 15. While teenagers over this age should only have access to ethical platforms, like Bluesky.

According to the group appointed by Macron, social media can become risk factors for experiencing anxiety and depression in young people. They also found that children can face an alarming level of exposure to pornographic content and violence.

The report states that there is a very clear consensus regarding the negative effects, both indirect and direct, that screens bring.

It also states that time spent on screens has consequences for both children's health and development, but also for the future of our civilization and society.
