If you've ever consumed coffee from a machine at work, think twice before doing so. This is according to a study conducted in Sweden on the consumption of coffee from a machine, mainly in offices or work environments.
The entire study is related to the high level of cholesterol-raising substances in the coffees served by these machines.
"The filtration process is crucial for the presence of these cholesterol-raising substances in the coffee you consume," explains researcher David Iggman.
According to him, it is difficult to identify to what extent and where this problem may occur, as not all coffee machines can filter these substances.
Iggman focuses on the effects this substance has on the human body, mentioning cardiovascular diseases caused by the presence of bad cholesterol.
"When it is present in the body, it can become a problem for the organism as well as for the walls of the arteries, which harden and narrow, thus promoting, in the most fatal cases, a heart attack or stroke," says the researcher.
He further specifies that for people who drink coffee regularly, it is advisable that their filtration be at a preferable level, protecting them from potential risks of cardiac disease.
This way, they will not digest substances that boost cholesterol performance in their bodies, and make them more aware of the product they consume during the day.
