Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal, known in the Arab world as the "Sleeping Prince" after being in a coma for more than two decades, turned 36 last Friday.
The Saudi prince has been in this condition since 2005, when he was seriously injured in a car accident in London. On April 18, on the occasion of his 36th birthday, social networks were filled with congratulations, prayers and messages of hope for the prince, who, according to Roya News, has emerged as a symbol of unwavering faith for millions of people.
His mother, Princess Reema bin Talal, posted on X photos of her son from his childhood and most recent moments, writing: "My beloved Al-Waleed bin Khaled, 21 years after (the accident) you remain present in our hearts and in the prayers of all those who love you. My God, heal him."

The prince still relies on a mechanical device for his breathing and is fed through a feeding tube.
His last recorded movements were in 2019, when he reportedly responded with small movements, such as raising a finger or slightly moving his head. Despite these encouraging signs, however, the young man never came out of the coma.
Prince Al-Waleed is being treated at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, under the supervision of a specialized medical team.
His father, Prince Khaled bin Talal, and his mother, Princess Reema – are still hoping for a miracle.
In previous statements, Princess Reema has stressed that "her son's spirit is still present," while Prince Khaled, who had categorically refused to disconnect his son from the oxygen tubes, believes that the Higher Power that kept him alive may one day heal him.

Although the family did not provide a new medical update on the occasion of the prince's last birthday, the outpouring of support on social media shows the ongoing emotional resonance of the family's touching story.
