American rapper Poorstacy, whose real name is Carlito Milfort Jr., has died at the age of 26 after an incident that occurred on Saturday in Boca Raton, Florida. The news was confirmed by the Boca Raton Police Department, while TMZ first reported the tragic event. The cause of death remains unclear, as authorities have not provided further details.

According to preliminary information, an ambulance was called to a hotel in the area, where the rapper had been staying for ten days with his wife and child. He was rushed to the hospital, but did not survive.

Hotel employees told TMZ that it was a medical emergency and that Poorstacy was the only person hospitalized that day.

Poorstacy became known for his unique style that combined emo rap, hip hop, punk rock and heavy metal. He collaborated with many well-known artists, including Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. The two worked together on the songs "Choose Life" and "Nothing Left".

Following the announcement of his death, Travis Barker paid tribute to the rapper on Instagram, sharing a touching video of their performance. He also posted a clip of their collaboration "Choose Life," writing:
