By exploiting the potential of Artificial Intelligence to clone the former footballer's identity, a fraudster managed to convince Adriano's mother to give him 15 thousand reais (about 2400 euros) in a fake current account.

This is an episode that highlights the alarming evolution of deepfake techniques, now capable of manipulating the deepest affective connections for criminal purposes.

Adriano's reaction was immediate: through a video that went viral, the former Inter striker clarified that he had never changed his phone number and gave the fraudster a firm ultimatum of 24 hours:

'Family is no joke, give me your money back or I'll come looking for you' was the strong phrase of Adriano, once known as 'The Emperor', warning his followers to be wary of suspicious requests, especially those using fake voice technologies.
