Renowned singer Dafina Zeqiri reacted through a post on social media, where she harshly criticized the behavior of some people at the funeral of Gjesti's brother.
She expressed her outrage at the fact that people were filming with their phones, while so-called "VIPs" were giving interviews and bragging online about the words that had been said to them. Zeqiri also criticized journalists who, according to her, asked irrelevant questions and turned the family's pain into a spectacle.
"It is absurd, inhumane and deeply disrespectful that such a private moment should be turned into a circus," she wrote.
In her message, Dafina said that one day she will teach her son to stay away from such people, who according to her set the worst example.
"Humanity should never be traded for attention. Attention should never come at the expense of someone else's pain," the artist concluded.
Her writing:
"Social media is powerful, but also dangerous. It is built on attention, but it should never glorify the wrong kind of it!"
I was shocked to see people recording with their iPhones at a funeral. And so-called “VIPs” who gave interviews were bragging online about what they had been told. Some so-called journalists were asking irrelevant questions, turning a family’s pain into their own light.
This is absurd, inhumane and deeply disrespectful. What should have been a private moment turned into a circus. One day, I will teach my son: these are the people you should stay away from, the ones who set the worst example. Humanity should never be traded for attention. Because attention should never come at the expense of someone else’s pain.”
