Invited today to "Rudina" on TV Klan, two partners Alba Ahmetaj and Edlira Mara have told their love story. They show how their first feelings started which then crowned her in a 12-year relationship. Known at a party by a mutual friend, for them it was love at first sight, whose emotions Eda confesses as if everything had happened yesterday.

Rudina Magjistari: In the meantime, have you been together for almost 12 years?

Alba Ahmetaj: Yes, since 2010.

Rudina Magjistari: You met at a party, we told you briefly, but how did it actually happen?

Edlira Mara: We met at a party with Alba. The meeting was through a mutual friend of ours. In fact, as far as I have seen, Alba has been a spark. I did not believe the part of the spark, but it really happened 12 years ago and today three months ago. I remember Alba as if I was facing her now, with that white shirt, jeans, heels, the way she looked at me and the way I looked at her. We talked at that high rhythm of the music, I who approached to talk a little with him because what I was saying was not heard. Alba approached my ear, her hair falling to me, curly…

Rudina Magjistari: It seems to me that you will write a book, how a writer is telling the whole story.

Edlira Mara: I had a lot of emotions and when I got home, the first message I received from Alba was… my curls are missing now.

Alba: The parents never accepted our relationship

For Alba, as she recalls the moment when she somehow understood herself, it was a platonic love affair at the age of 10 with a nurse. But only 15 years later, when she was 25, would she admit to herself her true identity. The big step to doing this with others would be a stand-alone process, just as long.

Rudina Magjistari: When you got the courage, the step to share it with your family?

Alba Ahmetaj: To share with the family many years later. It happened when I was around 33, so many years have passed. I was in a relationship with Eda when I got the courage because I could not lie to her because you mean it, you have to go home, tell your parents that "this is my best friend", you can not tell that "This is the love of my life" or that you will start a family, despite the fact that then starting a family with children has always been just a dream, but it is difficult.

Rudina Magjistari: And how did they react?

They did not receive him well. My parents have this obsession with "what does the world mean?" and she has hurt us a lot because it has always affected our relationship, the fact that they could never accept my relationship with Eda. For a while we did not talk, but then we reconnected, now we have a relationship, but Eda is not part of that relationship and it kills me a lot.

Rudina Magjistari: So they can not accept it, they can not take this step?

Alba Ahmetaj: No, it is very difficult.

Alba and Eda: The doctor refused in vitro fertilization when he realized that we were a couple

Alba and Eda also shared how they made the decision to become the mother of a child. They indicated that this had been a desire since the beginning of their relationship, but had encountered difficulties as the law does not allow same-sex couples to have children. Alba recounts the bitter experience they had when the request of her partner Eda, who presented herself as a single mother, was rejected by an Albanian doctor.

Alba Ahmetaj: In fact we have wanted this almost from the beginning, but it seemed very difficult, almost impossible. It turned out difficult, but not impossible. The moment we decided we were going to do it we started studying. We had a small incident at one of these private clinics where we just went to find out, Eda was introduced as wanting to be a single mother and maybe the doctor realized we were a couple after telling us we could not do it because the law did not allow it. He was a very strong disappointment. He even made the excuse that if something happens, same-sex families will abuse it.

They show that they did not give up until they realized their desire to be a mother, despite the fact that at first they thought such a thing was impossible. Eda says that to make their wish come true they went to another clinic, where they were not introduced as a couple and where she performs the "in vitro" procedure. Everything went well and now they are the mother of two daughters.

Edlira Mara: At that time I was working in another job and I started studying all the private hospitals where I could perform "in vitro". We went there with Alba, we did not introduce ourselves as a couple, we just got information on "in vitro". Everything has gone very well since the first day we stepped into that hospital. The "in vitro" procedure was very normal for me and the pregnancy part went very normal. We both felt very good throughout the 'in vitro' procedure, the pregnancy procedure and the birth of the girls.
