Deer eating a snake? The video that dispels the "myth" of the peaceful

Deer belong to the group of more peaceful animals and we often see them in nature parks moving freely and being friendly with visitors.

Although the large brilopath deer seen in the forests of Siberia or Canada look more ferocious in appearance, no one had previously thought that deer could also be carnivores that feed on meat.

It's hard for anyone to imagine such a cute animal as a carnivore, as their diet mainly consists of plant-based foods, but a video posted on Twitter, which has been viewed by over 14 million users of the social network, suggests otherwise. .

While deer are generally considered herbivores, in the video one of them is seen eating a snake.

So the question that the Twitter user who posted the video online rightfully asked was: “For the first time I saw a deer eating a snake. Doesn't the deer eat grass?".

Biologists agree that it is not the norm for deer to consume the meat of other animals. However, there is scientific evidence from field research that proves otherwise.

Field cameras from scientific research have confirmed that deer sometimes also consume meat.
They eat small birds and also consume eggs from bird nests. Deer are also known to consume dead animal carcasses, most commonly dead fish that wash ashore.

They show their inclinations to eat meat from time to time. Especially in the fall, when deer are preparing for winter, it is beneficial for the animals to take advantage of any opportunity they can get to fatten up for the cold months.
