Singer Cher's son is urgently sent to the hospital, due to drug overdose

Singer Cher's problematic son, Elijah Blue Allman, reportedly suffered an overdose in Southern California over the weekend.

A source told TMZ that the legendary artist's youngest child, whom she had with the late Gregg Allman, "was rushed to the hospital in Joshua Tree, California, after an overdose early Saturday morning."

The media also reported that it is not known "what drugs he was using" and that he is "taking the best possible care".

The insider added that Allman is "very lucky to have survived".

TMZ reports that his mother is focused on "doing everything she can to provide him with the help she needs" and is only concerned about her son's well-being.

In 2014, Allman revealed that he had started using drugs, such as marijuana and ecstasy, at the age of 11 and detailed some of the consequences of the overdose.
