Cristiano Ronaldo has made a sensational decision about his private life: the Portuguese star and his fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez, will be married in Madeira next year.
The news was reported by Correio da Manhã, confirming that the footballer has chosen the island where he was born for the ceremony, breaking the tradition of the wedding being held in the bride's birthplace, in this case Argentina.
The decision comes as Ronaldo, 40, is enjoying a stellar season with Al-Nassr. He has scored 11 goals in 12 games, including a spectacular header, and is preparing for the 2026 World Cup—although he faces a suspension in the opening match after being sent off against Ireland.
The ceremony is expected to be private and will take place after the World Cup and before the start of the new Saudi League season. Earlier this month, Ronaldo confessed to Piers Morgan Uncensored that his daughters pushed him to take the big step and propose to Georgina.
The couple have two daughters together: Martine, 7, and Bella Esmeralda, 3. The Portuguese is also father to Cristiano Jr, 15, and twins Mateo and Eva, 8.
Ronaldo continues to make history on the pitch. He has scored 104 goals in 117 games for Al-Nassr and is under the most expensive contract in the history of the sport, worth a minimum of £492 million over two years. Since leaving Manchester United, the legendary striker has played for clubs including Real Madrid, Juventus and Sporting—where it all began and where he is now planning his wedding.
