The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and Chairman of the United Russia party, Dmitry Medvedev , stated that the goal of the military operation in Ukraine is to guarantee peace and stability for the coming decades, while he did not fail, once again, to use disparaging tones towards the Ukrainian president.

During a visit to the Sverdlovsk region, specifically to a factory for the production of railway infrastructure, Medvedev emphasized that Russia is following the path of development and technological progress, in parallel with the continuation of military operations.

"The most important thing in our country is that development continues, technological progress is moving forward. But the special military operation in Ukraine is also underway and will certainly be completed. The goal is to ensure peace, stability and development of our country for the coming decades ," he said.

The Russian official also underlined that Moscow cannot accept the existence of an "unfriendly" state on its borders, especially if it is part of NATO.

"Unfortunately, we cannot tolerate the idea of ​​a state that is located next to our country and is hostile to us, especially when it is part of the North Atlantic Alliance, NATO," he declared during a meeting with employees.

Medvedev reiterated that Russia " will achieve peace and guarantee the security of its state ," stressing that the country's strategic objectives remain unchanged.

In another part of his statements, he attacked the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whom he described as a "useful idiot", adding that the longer he stays in power, "the smaller the territory of 'Ukraine' will become".
