Trump dismisses the head of intelligence at the Pentagon
Jeffery Kruse

The Secretary of Defense in the United States of America, Pete Hegseth, has dismissed the Pentagon's intelligence chief, a few weeks after the harsh reaction from the White House to the report released by this agency on the effectiveness of American attacks on Iran.

U.S. media reports indicate that Lieutenant General Jeffery Kruse will no longer serve as head of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), while two other senior commanders were fired.

In June, President Donald Trump vehemently opposed a published DIA report that found that U.S. attacks on Iran had only hampered its nuclear program for months. The White House declared the agency's assessment to be completely wrong.
