The First Lady of Turkey, Emine Erdogan, has addressed an open letter to Melania Trump, inviting her to use her voice to stop the tragedy of children in Gaza.

In the published letter, Erdogan recalled Melania's former message to Russian President Vladimir Putin about Ukrainian orphans, describing it as a compassionate gesture that touched many people.

"This compassion must also extend to Palestinian children," she writes, stressing that Gaza has been turned "into a cemetery for children."

According to Erdogan, more than 62 thousand civilians have lost their lives, of which 18 thousand are children.

She asks the US First Lady to send a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling for an end to the humanitarian crisis.

"It is already too late for thousands, but there is still time to save over a million more," Emine Erdogan concludes the message.
