Donald Trump has reignited tensions with a provocative post on his social media account Truth. The US president has published a photo montage showing him planting the US flag on Greenland soil.
In the image, Trump holds the Stars and Stripes flag, while Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio stand behind him. In the background, a banner with a straightforward message stands out: "Greenland, US territory by 2026."
Among other things, he has posted another photo montage from the meeting with EU leaders in the Oval Office where all of North America, including Canada and Greenland, as well as Venezuela to the south, are colored with the American flag.

The post has sparked immediate reactions, being interpreted as a strong political signal at a time when the Greenland issue has become one of the hottest points of conflict between Washington and Europe. The photomontage is seen as an open provocation, further fueling fears of a diplomatic and political escalation between the traditional allies.
There is still no official clarification from the White House as to whether this is a symbolic message or a well-calculated political stance, but Trump's post has been enough to spark debate in the international arena.
