US President Donald Trump accused the United Nations of funding the migration crisis during his speech to the General Assembly.
"Not only is the UN not solving the problems it needs to, but too often it is creating new problems for us to solve," Trump said. "The best example is the number one political issue of our time: the uncontrolled migration crisis."
"Your countries are being destroyed," Trump added. "The United Nations is funding an attack on Western countries and their borders."
Trump claimed that the UN's migrant aid helped people enter the US illegally, "and then we have to get them out. The UN also provided food, shelter, transportation and debit cards to illegal aliens."
Trump said the UN is supposed to protect countries from "invasions" and "not create them and not fund them."
"In the United States, we reject the idea that massive numbers of people from foreign countries can be allowed to travel halfway around the world, violate our borders, violate our sovereignty, cause unmitigated crime, and deplete our social safety net," he said.
