United States President Donald Trump said he has "never been in better shape" after rumors emerged over the weekend about his health condition due to his temporary withdrawal from the public eye.
"I've never felt better in my life," Trump wrote in a post responding to comments from a user mocking former President Joe Biden's physical condition, adding that "the media will go crazy if Trump doesn't show up in 24 hours."
The speculation arose because Trump had not been seen in public since the middle of last week and his schedule was empty over the weekend, the Independent reports.
Additional attention was also drawn to US Vice President JD Vance's statement to USA Today, in which he said he was "ready to take over the presidency in the event of a tragedy," but also that Trump was "in exceptionally good health."
On Saturday, questions like "Where is Donald Trump?" were among the most searched terms on Google, and the topic was also trending on the X network.
However, Trump was later photographed heading to his golf course in Virginia and last weekend he published dozens of posts on his social network, including claims that Washington is now a "crime-free zone", a call to abolish postal voting and a bizarre attack on a White House employee over alleged damage to the Rose Garden, according to the British newspaper.
