Twenty-five more American citizens have been blacklisted in Russia in response to the Biden administration's ongoing sanctions against Russian citizens, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today in Moscow.

American actors Sean Penn and Ben Stiller are among the banned political, cultural and business figures. The two actors have been blacklisted because of their political allegiance to Ukraine in response to the Russian invasion.

Penn and Stiller have been vocal in their support for Ukraine and have been hosted by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Penn was in Ukraine filming a documentary when the war broke out on February 24, as well as visiting the Bucha and Irpin regions, areas where atrocities against civilians by Russian forces have occurred.

While Stiller met the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Kiev, calling him a "hero".

Actors have been joined on the blacklist by several congressmen and CEOs.

The highest-ranking politician is US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo. Also, US President Joe Biden was sanctioned in March.
