Dana Eden, 52, producer and creator of the popular drama series "Tehran," has died unexpectedly while filming the fourth season in Greece.

"In recent days, the fourth season of the series has been filmed in Greece, a complex and important production, which Dana traveled to supervise closely," said the statement from public broadcaster Kan, which broke the bitter news and expressed condolences to the family for her death.

According to Israeli media, Eden was found dead in a hotel in Athens yesterday by her brother, who began searching for her after she did not respond to messages.

Local police have ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death and have begun collecting footage from security cameras as well as testimonies from hotel staff.

According to initial reports, it is not believed that any criminal activity took place.

"Tehran," the Israeli series about a Mossad agent infiltrated in the Iranian capital, also airs on Apple TV, which released its third season last month.

Eden was known as one of the most successful and productive producers on Israeli television, working on series such as "Saving the Wildlife," "She Has It," "Magpie" and "Shakshouka."
