American parents are outraged by the British cartoon "Peppa Pig" and say it has taught their children "rudeness and impatience".

Parents have also reported that their children have become so obsessed with cartoons that they have adopted British accents and mannerisms.

A mother from Houston said: "Peppa is rude and impatient, and the show teaches children that this kind of behavior is okay."

Another mother, 41, told The Wall Street Journal that "Peppa is a cow" after noticing a change in the way her five-year-old son, Luca, was acting compared to a few months ago.

The mother recalled that her son approached their neighbor and said, "Look, David has a big belly!"

"That's when I realized that he got all these behaviors from Peppa Pig," said the worried mother.

She also noticed that when it came to getting her son to try new foods, he would respond, “Eh! Damn!” When he got upset his mother said he was shouting "You are not my friend anymore!".

The popular cartoon, which was first released in 2004, is about a pig named Peppa, a preschooler who lives with her mother, father and brother.

The show has become so massive that it has continued with clothing franchises, toys and even featured in children's parks.

According to Parrot Analytics, in 2022, the empire made $1.7 billion in retail sales, and in 2023, Peppa was the fourth most searched children's series worldwide, behind Masha the Bear, SpongeBob SquarePants and Paw Patrol.

Parents have reported that their children have started using words and accents like Peppa, as some American children have been heard saying and referring to cookies as 'biscuits'.
