King Charles has declared 17 days of mourning for the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth. Mourning will be held by members of the royal family, staff and representatives of official duties. A funeral date has not yet been set.
The Prince has already begun his duties as King. Soon he will return to London and be introduced as the new monarch.
Today will see public mourning, flags flying at half-mast, flowers outside royal palaces and a gun salute in Hyde Park.
A prayer service will be held at St. Paul's Cathedral at 6 p.m. Some activities from Kew Gardens to Legoland have been closed.
A public book of condolences has been opened on the royal family's website.
