The upper floors of a Ukrainian government building were also damaged by Russian attacks. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, sharing photos of the damaged building, called for an international response.
"Last night, Russia carried out another massive attack on Ukraine. Kiev, Krivyi Rih, Dnipro, Kremenchuk and Odessa were attacked. For the first time, a government building, its roof and upper floors were damaged by an enemy attack. Rescue teams are extinguishing the flames. I thank them for their work," she said.
He also called for sanctions on Russian oil and gas, while citing the need for more weapons.
"Buildings will be restored, but lost lives cannot be brought back. The enemy terrorizes and kills our people across the country every day. The world must respond to this destruction not only with words, but with deeds. Sanctions must be strengthened, especially against Russian oil and gas. New restrictions are needed on the Kremlin's military machine. And above all, Ukraine needs weapons. This will stop terror and prevent Russia from trying to kill Ukrainians every day," Svyrydenko stressed.
