Hamas wants to extend the ceasefire: We are in contact with Qatar and Egypt

Hamas is "trying to extend the ceasefire" with Israel in the Gaza Strip by using all the cards it has in negotiations. This is what a member of the political bureau of the militant group said, writes CNN .

Ghazi Hamad said that Hamas is in contact with Qatar and Egypt regarding the ceasefire and that there are "efforts being made by other countries to press for a ceasefire".

"We are trying to extend the ceasefire to stop the aggression once and for all, using the cards we have," Hamad said in a statement.

The member of the politburo said that so far there are no negotiations for the release of Israeli soldiers in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
