Denmark does not rule out the recognition of a Palestinian state. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated that they are in favor of recognizing the Palestinian state, but underlined that it must be democratic.

"We are not saying no to the recognition of a Palestinian state. We are in favor. We have been in favor for a long time. But obviously it must be made sure that it is a democratic state," she said, among other things.

Frederiksen further stated that the continuation of Netanyahu's policy in Gaza is unacceptable.


The recognition of a Palestinian state should serve the "good cause". On the other hand, Denmark will use its EU presidency to increase pressure.
