The European Union has condemned Israel's airstrike against Hamas leaders in Doha, calling it a violation of international law and Qatar's territorial integrity.
In a statement issued late Tuesday, the EU warned of the risks of further escalation of violence in the region.
"We express our full solidarity with the authorities and people of Qatar, a strategic partner of the European Union," said a spokesperson for Kaja Kallas, the EU's foreign policy chief, in a post on the social network X.
He stressed that any escalation of the war in Gaza must be avoided, as it is not in anyone's interest. "We will continue to support all efforts towards a ceasefire in Gaza," the EU official said.
This attack has raised serious international concerns, while tensions in the region remain high.
