Sewage, entities that have not installed the plants, fine up to license

After the completion of the 3-month deadline for the installation of wastewater treatment plants, the Washwater Task Force has started inspections in each subject to certify and monitor the process.

According to the Normative Act approved by the government, entities that carry out economic activities in coastal areas, as well as on the shores of lakes and rivers, and discharge polluted waters into washing waters had the obligation to install their treatment and removal plants, by the week the first of May.

Meanwhile, with the end of this term, the start of the operation of the Task Force was foreseen, which through field controls has the task of monitoring the implementation of these obligations.

Currently, concrete data on the progress of the process and the implementation of the obligation by businesses have not been made public, while the Task Force has the right to impose administrative measures, in case of violations. The Normative Act divides subjects into 3 categories, depending on the equivalent population, while the amount of fines varies according to the category to which the subject belongs.

Their value is estimated from 1.5 million ALL to 2.65 million ALL. However, entities that do not comply with these legal obligations risk having their license revoked. Initially, the Task Force, with the imposition of the fine, gives 60 days to the relevant entities to meet the standards.

If even after 60 days, the obligation has not been fulfilled, the subject is fined 2 times, while at the end of the tourist season, it is proposed to remove the license, permit or authorization, for the performance of the economic activity.
