From guesthouses, hotels, apartments, agrotourism, restaurants, cafes, clubs to beach resorts or water activities.

Everyone will be under the scrutiny of the tax administration, as part of the plan for controls in the tourism sector for this year.

The Tax Administration's 8-point plan aims to increase the number of businesses that pay VAT or profit tax, by cracking down on tax evasion and businesses that operate unregistered.

There will also be controls on the declaration of hotel occupancy, including verifications for undeclared employees or unrealistic salaries.

To crack down on tax evasion, data will also be obtained from the Booking and AIRBNB platforms to verify the prices offered by accommodation structures, i.e. whether they declare the real prices for their rooms or not.

Taxes say that these measures are being taken to reduce informality in the tourism sector and will extend to accommodation structures, hotels, bars and restaurants, tourist agencies and water transport vehicles.

The plan states that all entities with NIPT, those identified through Booking or Airbnb, as well as those taxpayers who are registered with the Ministry of Tourism or who have received funds from AZHBR will be included in these checks.

As part of the implementation of this plan, the Tax Administration will start with notifications addressed to taxpayers in this sector on the e-Filing platform for immediate information, followed by detailed checks on risk subjects and then on-site verifications of the subjects' declarations.
