Interest rate unchanged, Governor Sejko: Economy in positive environment

The Bank of Albania has left the base interest rate for the lek unchanged at 2.75%.

This was confirmed by the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, through a statement to the media, where he spoke about the monetary policy decision-making for December 2024.

According to Sejko, the economy is in a positive environment, inflation has fallen, while employment has increased. Based on these results, according to Sejko, the Bank of Albania decided not to change the base interest rate of 2.75%.

During the conference, Governor Sejko emphasized that the BoA has increased its purchases of euros in the market to stabilize the exchange rate.
