Socialist MP Erion Braçe denounced this Thursday the third increase in the price of oil in a few days, accusing fuel wholesalers of abusing it, despite the fact that prices on the stock exchanges are those of the pre-war period and foreign currencies are at a historic minimum.

"Oil traders raised the price today to 185 lek per liter - 6 lek more! And this is the standard oil, the other "good" oil is sold at 189, 190, 191 lek per liter! In three days, traders increased the price twice, 9 lek per liter!

"In the three weeks since the board suspended decision-making, oil traders kept the price unchanged! Even though the stock market price fell to pre-war levels, even though the currency exchange rate fell to historic levels," he writes.

Erion Braçe says that if society and legislators do not react, at this rate, at the beginning of next week the price of oil traded as "premium" will be 200 lek.

"What annoys you the most has to do with the lack of transparency; the price is printed on the sign and there is no explanation; you have to pay it; at every pump, every company, one price, on the same day, at the same time!

The market is closed, without competition and without competitive product prices - 20 years of the same market, the same companies.

"Time has passed for a competitive market; extraordinary events such as wars, the instruments used for prices during wars, bring out even more clearly the captured and blocked market! If we are to accept this market even more, all that is needed is an intervention - determination of the profit level, as the board does",  concludes the socialist deputy.
