Businesses have less than two weeks to submit their financial statements to the National Business Center. Through an official announcement, this institution informs that "by July 31, 2024, all entities in accordance with the law must submit the following documents to the National Business Center, in cases where their retention is mandatory: Annual financial statements; Activity progress report; and the audit report.
The National Business Center emphasizes that "regardless of their legal form, the filing of the above acts must be done by any entity registered in the Commercial Register, when these entities have the obligation to draft them". Their delivery can be done through the online service "Deposit of financial statements and audit reports (for subjects with Albanian and/or foreign administrators)" in e-albania.
According to the legislation, law no. 9723, dated 03.05.2007, "On business registration", as amended, the subjects must register and deposit the annual financial statements, the activity progress report and the audit report, kept according to legal requirements, in cases where the keeping of these documents is mandatory, no later than 7 months from the closing date of each financial year, otherwise an administrative sanction and fine will be applied.
Referring to the legislation, the administrative offense applied in this case has a value of 15,000 ALL. The declaration of false data in the register is punished with the same value, when it does not constitute a criminal offense.
