The construction company "Arlis", which built the complex where the fire broke out yesterday, said today that it had signed a contract with a specialized company that guaranteed that the facade used in the building that burned down would be made of fire-resistant material.
"For all facade works for the building in question, the company has concluded respective agreements with commercial companies, registered with the National Business Center, who have pledged and undertaken to perform the services offered and contracted with full legal responsibility," the statement from the "Arlis" company states.
The company in question says that it "has all the certifications of the materials according to European standards and applicable legislation, which were made available to us by the contractors who carried out these works."
The procedures require that every activity during the construction process be reviewed by an independent supervisor, selected by the company, and then by a building inspector, before the Municipality grants a permit for use.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the fire, while four others, including the owner of the "Arlis" company, will be investigated at large.
Enver Ademi (Engineer of the Arlis company), Altin Furtuna (contractor who built the facade), Agron Cara (Administrator of the building) and RS (Manager of the market) have been arrested in connection with the fire in which 11 citizens, firefighters and police officers were injured, while Armand Lilo (Owner of the Arlis company), 2 employees of the market and Sh. B. (Contractor for the construction of the complex) will be investigated at large.
