Ouklid El Ouejdi/Sheval Muharremin known as the Boss of Gërçeci

Authorities in Elbasan have provided details on the conflict that led to the murder of businessman Edmond Mondi Mëhalla , placing 35-year-old Oklid El Ouejdi at the center of the investigation.

El Ouejdi, known in the city by the nickname Kiço or Oliver and nephew of the well-known character " Timi of Elbasan ", is suspected of having organized and financed the assassination attempt on the Mahalla.

According to the State Police, the conflict started over an unfinished business agreement worth 700 thousand euros.

About 10 days before the murder, Mahalla had physically abused El Owaid at the Xhaxhi Oil gas station.

To avoid the financial obligation, El Ouejdi had offered four apartments in Tirana as compensation, but with ownership problems, which increased the tension between them.

10 days after the physical altercation, Mondi Mëhalla was shot with three bullets and professionally murdered, while the perpetrators burned the Audi car after the crime.

Mahalla, known in the city as "Hyka", was a close friend of Kei Piu.

So far, three people have been arrested: Nevzat Nevi Spaho, suspected of being the driver who helped the perpetrator escape; Kujtim Pisha, a gas station employee, for failing to provide information; and Xhino Ago, a partner of Mahalla, accused of not changing ownership of the car used in the crime.

Armando Kola from Laçi and Marcelo Arani from Elbasan, who had violated house arrest for money laundering, remain wanted.

Naldi Gjini remains a key figure, having identified some of the suspects and assisted in the investigations.

Authorities consider El Owaid the key person in the investigation with a suspected presence in North Macedonia and numerous connections in the region, including with Sheval Muharrem, known as the Boss of Gërçeci .

Investigations indicate that financial conflict and personal tensions led to the assassination.

Police are continuing efforts to capture Oued and the two other wanted men, and the investigation is expected to bring important developments in the coming days.
