The Court of Appeal in Tirana orders the Prosecution to resume investigations into the murder of former police officer Arben Bilali.

The accused of the assassination is Gjergj Cukali , known as "Myslym Shyri's strongman".

Announcement of the Court of Appeal:

The Court declared "Amendment of decision no. – (none) dated 14.10.2020 of the Tirana Judicial District Court, as follows:

– The rejection of the request of the Tirana Judicial District Prosecutor's Office, today

Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana.

– Return of acts for the continuation of investigations within the framework of criminal proceedings no.

1006 dated 30.01.2019, registered for the criminal offenses of "Premeditated Murder" and "Unauthorized Production and Possession of Military Weapons", provided for by Articles 78/2 and 278/2 of the Criminal Code, with the person under investigation Gjergj Cukali, according to the direction of the necessary investigative actions specified in the reasoning part of this decision.

– Setting a 3-month deadline for carrying out these actions, which deadline begins from the moment of notification of this decision.

– A copy of this decision shall be notified to the Head of the Prosecution Office of the

Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana.

– This decision is subject to appeal to the Supreme Court, in accordance with the law.
