A serious incident has shaken Gjirokastra today, where a 17-year-old was found dead in his apartment in the village of Valare. According to preliminary sources, the young man, with the initials VP, is suspected of having hanged himself.

At around 1:30 PM, he was transported to the Gjirokastra Regional Hospital by his family, but doctors determined that he had died earlier.

The investigation team is at the scene and has initiated investigative actions to clarify the full circumstances of this tragedy.

Relatives of the Peçi family say that the young man suffered from isolation and melancholy, but was not under any medical treatment. The family is originally from the village of Picar in Gjirokastra.

Police have seized the 17-year-old's phone and several personal belongings, while peers and students from the "Siri Shapllo" high school, where the young man attended classes, are expected to be questioned.

We recall that just two months ago, another 17-year-old from the same school ended her life, adding to concerns about the overall emotional stability of adolescents and the numerous untreated problems.

The incident has shocked the entire local community. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motives and circumstances of this serious incident.
