A 37-year-old Albanian has been arrested in Bergamo, Italy, after five months on the run, for a failed robbery at the home of an 85-year-old man.

The incident took place in October 2025 in Arzago d'Adda, where he and an accomplice were caught red-handed trying to open the door of the elderly man's apartment.

During the intervention of the carabinieri, the situation degenerated into a violent clash. The two suspects used irritating spray and strong tools, seriously injuring one officer, who ended up in the hospital with a broken jaw, head trauma and injuries that required 30 days of treatment.

While his accomplice was immediately arrested, the 37-year-old man with the initials NA managed to escape. After intensive investigations and analysis of security cameras, police located and arrested him at his apartment, where they found gold jewelry and an illegally held electric gun.

Known for previous precedents and under an alternative measure, he was sent to San Vittore prison, while other charges were added against him.
