The lack of labor has become a problem in Albania. The service sector seems to be suffering the most from this problem.
According to the Labor Office in Albania, out of nearly 10,000 job vacancies for two months, only half of them have been filled.
"If we refer to the first two months of the year, we have over 10,000 jobs announced by businesses, of which over 5,000 positions have been filled through the mediation of the Labor Office. About 4,000 vacancies", says Gertiola Cepani, Head of the Employment Service.
Wages, working conditions and socio-economic reasons seem to be the main factors of refusing a job in Albania.
"Wages, which are not very satisfactory, working conditions, extended hours. But there are also social, economic and health reasons, many workplaces are far from the place of residence, we have a lack of transport for some employees, there is a shortage in kindergartens, nurseries and they have children far away, there are people over 55 years old".
The Albanian government has started meetings with entrepreneurship, noting the necessity of further salary increases in the private sector, as an opportunity to keep the workforce./TvKlan
