Albania and North Macedonia have been ranked among the six cheapest summer destinations to visit in Europe, by travel company Kayak.

Many of the destinations mentioned are in Eastern Europe, which is usually considered the cheapest area to travel to on the continent.

According to the latest report from Kayak, these are the six cheapest destinations in Europe.

Saranda, Albania

In the heart of the Albanian Riviera, Saranda is a beautiful and picturesque coastal town that was once a sleepy fishing village. The city has a favorable climate, with 300 sunny days every year.

The main attraction for visitors is the white sand beach, but if you want to explore beyond the sun and sand, you can also visit the Leather Castle. Entrance to the castle is free, ideal for tourists who do not want to spend a lot.

A good meal in Saranda will cost visitors only $6 per person.

Skopje, North Macedonia

While North Macedonia may not be your first choice when you think of European vacation destinations, the country's popularity is growing rapidly.

Travelers looking for free activities in the city can go to the memorial house of Mother Teresa, who was born there, or explore Skopje Castle.

A dinner for two costs only $18, while a beer costs $1.50.

Galicia, Spain
