US blocks "Homeland Justice" website, Department of Justice: Attacked

The US Department of Justice has blocked several websites that it says have been used by Iran to spread propaganda and target opponents.

According to US authorities, Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and Security used these four sites to publish sensitive data stolen during cyberattacks, as well as to call for violence against journalists, regime opponents, and Israeli citizens.

Among the targeted hackers is the notorious group "Homeland Justice", which has hit Albania several times in the past and recently, showing the global scale of cyber threats.

"On or about July 15, 2022 and September 9, 2022, MOIS actors used the Justice Homeland[.]org domain to claim responsibility for the theft of sensitive documents from Albanian government organizations," the US Department of Justice said in a statement.

Attorney General Pam Bondi warned that "terrorist propaganda online can incite real violence," while FBI Director Kash Patel stated that the agency will pursue any person involved in these threats and cyberattacks.

These measures come at a time of high tensions, as reports of attacks on institutions in the US are being investigated as acts of terrorism.

According to the Justice Department, some of these sites had published sensitive data about about 190 people connected to the Israeli government, as well as included threats and calls for various attacks.

Meanwhile, US authorities emphasize that these actions are intended to intimidate critics of the Iranian regime and hinder independent reporting.

The last time an attack by hackers (with support from Iran) was reported against our country was on March 10 of this year, when a "hit" was reported against the IT system of the Albanian Parliament.

Earlier, in June 2025, the Tirana municipality website was taken down.

Meanwhile, in 2022, several sophisticated hacker groups supported by the Iranian state attacked online services in the country. This caused the Albanian government to break diplomatic relations with the Iranian state by expelling the diplomatic mission located in Albania, in response to the cyberattack.

"Homeland Justice" attacks continued against several important state institutions in 2023 and against INSTAT in 2024.
