Today's session of the Albanian Parliament opened with a minute of silence for the two children who lost their lives yesterday during a tragic accident that occurred in the Spitalla area of ??Durrës.
The leader of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, at the beginning of his speech in Parliament focused on the tragic accident.
"Let's start to understand how our laws are implemented. If we as the Assembly are content with removing points from the license, this is difficult for us. I was also discussing it with the chairman of the Laws Committee... Mr. Manja explained to me other cases in other countries, our response will be immediate as soon as we have the opportunity to change the Code", said Balla, warning of interference in the Road Traffic Code.
There was an appeal to the State Police.
"These neighborhood strongmen should all be made an example of, they don't even have to have a license. They should be checked breakfast, lunch and dinner!", he said.
As for the opposition's accusations against Minister Ferit Hoxha, he called them 'personal attacks', while he debated from the podium with the leader of the DP group, Gazment Bardhi.
We recall that a "Benz ML" vehicle driven by Nikoll Radaçi hit three minors yesterday, while a fourth miraculously escaped the accident.
Two children died immediately at the scene, while the third child was transported to the Trauma Hospital, where his life is now out of danger. It is suspected that the 57-year-old driver of the "Benz ML" car was drunk at the wheel.
President Bajram Begaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama, ministers, as well as MPs from both the majority and the opposition, reacted yesterday to the event.
