Residents of the village of Hotolisht in Librazhd have again taken to the streets today to protest, opposing the Elbasan-Qafë Thanë road project.
They are demanding the construction of a tunnel, as the current project divided the village into two parts and demolished about 30 houses.
A resident expressed his outrage that he had worked his entire life in emigration to build that house, which the state will now demolish. He warned that he would defend his home by any means necessary and that if there is no reaction from the institutions, he would resort to murder.
He also lashed out at Minister Belinda Balluku, who, according to him, is only deceiving him by saying she will go to meet him, but has not done so.
The residents collected over 500 signatures which they deposited with the ministry and then it was Belinda Balluku herself who asked for a meeting, but after they waited for over 3 hours, she did not show up.
" Tell the minister I will not carry out the order because it is a criminal order, it is not a human order. This is a crime you are doing, to throw me out of my house, I have spent my entire life in Greece and the streets of the world to build that house, and you tell me to get out now or I will demolish it. Who are you, you filthy bastard?"
No, I will protect him, but I will go to any lengths, even murder. I have nitrates and urea, I have every kind of bomb I can make, because only execution is left in our hands.
So far no answer. That bitch is deceiving us, she'll come today, she'll come tomorrow, she never comes. We have nothing to lose anymore. We'll make every possible bomb. We have no other choice. Search everywhere, I can't find such a case in the world, to destroy an entire village so that the road can pass.
What is this? Not even Enver Hoxha did this. Who does this?! They bring the project here. They don't bring anything for us to see. Where does it go, how is it done. Nothing ," said one of the protesters.
He continued by accusing the government of waiting to "win the elections" and then taking more serious action against their eviction from their homes.
" They expect to take the elections and throw tear gas to get us out of our homes. As soon as the houses are finished, they will come with rubber batons and tear gas ," he said.
